Good perception is essential to extract the necessary information about the environment for autonomous vehicles. We are looking for a passionate radar engineer with a deep understanding for the technology. We are looking for a candidate that has capability and willingness to learn the latest deep learning techniques and to work with these techniques hands-on. Ideally, the candidate has previous experience in the field of machine learning and/or deep learning. The candidate shall combine these latest ML techniques with Aptiv's latest sensor technology to create market leading perception solutions. With the right spirit the candidate brings the necessary flexibility to support different global projects. With good communication skills and the right level of understanding, he is the ideal connection point to the radar teams at the location as well as to other machine learning teams.

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

• Master or Ph.D. in science, technology, physics, engineering and mathematics or a related field
• Excellent analytical skills and a good mathematical background with deep mathematical understanding
• Familiar with a modern programming language, such as C/C , CUDA, Python or Rust
• Experience in modern radar signal processing methods

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

• Experience in the technical leadership of smaller teams
• Experience in developing software as part of a team
• Experience in machine learning and deep learning
• Experience in deep learning toolkits like Pytorch, Tensor Flow, etc.
• Experience in the field of real-time and embedded systems
• Autonomous driving or ADAS experience
• Proven track record of publications in relevant conferences (CVPR, NIPS, ICCV, ICRA, Fusion, ...)
• German language skills

Salary Range: $98,000 - $18,000

*As a candidate for this position, your salary and will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Aptiv considers relevant to the hiring decision.
