Cloud Architect

Manager’s Message:

Aptum is currently in the process of delivering a Hybrid Cloud Platform which incorporates a Hybrid Cloud Management portal. This offers our customers a unique way to manage their multi-cloud estate in an efficient manner. As our Cloud Product Architect, your primary focus will be on the delivery of this platform, and you will work collaboratively with colleagues to build on the work already done with regard to the research, design, commercials, implementation, documentation and training of the product.

How do you become an integral part of the team?

• Involvement in other key products on the company’s product roadmap.
• Be passionate about the cloud and have a positive, “can do” attitude. You will be keen to learn and keep your knowledge up to date.
• Use your knowledge and attitude to help the company to deliver products that are exciting, innovative and add real value for our customers.
• There will be opportunities to be involved in all aspects of product research, design, development and release, but your primary focus throughout will be the architectural design of the products.
• Elements of market research and review, product component research, evaluation and recommendation as well as risk review and security review.
• You will be expected to be involved in product structuring, documentation and deployment. You will have to establish lines of responsibility for the ongoing sustainment of the products as well as their deployment and will be actively involved in training requirements for the teams responsible.
• Following successful system launch, you will be accountable for ensuring that cloud products remain relevant and up to date in the marketplace. You will be the subject matter expert for the technologies being deployed and be able to assist with internal questions that may arise.

• Experience of cloud systems architecture
• Ability to think holistically about the impact of new products, not just on our customers but also the impact they will have on our sustainment teams

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work flexible or non-standard work hours when necessary and perform on-call duties for after-hours support when called upon to do so.

What you bring to Aptum

• Degree in IT related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Architect certification in cloud technologies or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years implementing, administering, or supporting virtualization and cloud technologies.
• Solid understanding of virtualisation and hybrid, multi-cloud environments
• Business Analysis experience or certification is a plus.

• You can provide details of your previous Cloud implementation(s) in Azure, AWS, VMware-based environments.
• You have a “can do” attitude and love to work in a busy environment.
• You’re all action – You just want to get stuff done; and when you do it, you do it right.
• When the odds are stacked against delivering, you still manage to deliver.
