Job Title: Manufacturing Process Supervisor

Job Location: Madison, WI

Employment Type: Full-Time/Permanent: 40-45 hours per week

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

Reports to: President and Director of Science & Innovation

Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Process Supervisor’s focus is the quality of the products and services Aquafix provides, as well as providing continuous process improvement efforts within the production department. The Manufacturing Process Supervisor will be responsible to ensure equipment and machinery is running smoothly, workflow and processes are efficient, and that the production team operates within established safety parameters. The individual must be able to effectively understand and/or interpret safety protocols, policies, and guidelines to ensure a safe and effective working environment. This role is responsible for creating great efficiency, so our team can produce great quality in a safe environment. The involvement of this role with staff will include motivation and coaching but is not responsible for manager metrics.

Primary Functions:

  • Equipment Augmentation and Processes- Responsible for set up and operation maintenance on machinery including bottling, packaging, and tableting machines. Coordinate maintenance schedules.
  • Warehouse Organization- Save footsteps by analyzing workflow. Continuously review warehouse layout to determine any needed changes in storage, workstations, and new or current machinery placement.
  • Develop and Implement Production Safety practices- Participate in safety education opportunities and train production staff.
  • Research new equipment
  • Assist in planning out expansions and layouts for growth and optimizing warehouse space.
  • Further develop, refine, and oversee implication of policy and procedures and SOP’s.
  • Oversee all warehouse activities to optimize operations.
  • Manage warehouse efficiencies to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Special Projects- May be required to lead or serve on special project teams.

Qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a production or manufacturing facility or warehouse.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining machinery.
  • Ability to improve processes.
  • Understands the cost of downtime in warehouse.
  • Knowledge of general shipping and receiving practices.
  • Knowledge of warehouse layout and where various materials are located.
  • Must be able to review safety protocols and translate them into business requirements/goals.
  • Must be able to view a problem from multiple angles or viewpoints and develop creative solutions.
  • Ability to hold oneself accountable for short, and long, term goals and performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to supervise multiple hourly production staff throughout a mid-sized facility.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and motivate a team.
  • Provide general maintenance to large and small-scale machinery.
  • Certified, or the ability to obtain certification, in:
  • Forklift, Lift Truck, Pallet Jack
  • Provide daily direction and support to the production team.
  • Resolve issues within the production.

Physical Effort:

Will be required to frequently stand and walk during normal periods of work. May be able to sit periodically. Will be required to lift 50lbs frequently with or without assistance, and up to 100lbs infrequently, with or without assistance. Must be able to carry up to 50lbs frequently. Will be required to push and pull carts weighing up to 200 lbs.

Tools Equipment and Machinery:

Must be able to periodically use general office equipment. Will be required to frequently use basic tools such as hand and power tools, spray bottles, box cutters and hammers. Will be required to operate various small and large production machinery such as the bottle machine, various types of scales, plow blender, tablet producer, various mixers and air compressor.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions infrequently consist of a general office environment. Most of the time will be spent in an environment with dirt, dust, heat, cold and various levels of noise. Will also be handling various levels of hazardous materials. Safety equipment will be provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,560.00 - $76,960.00 per year
