We're seeking a visionary Manager of People and Learning to propel us forward in our mission to revolutionize healthcare education.As part of Aquifer’s management team, you will be the “voice of the people” and work cross-functionally, bringing your unique insights to other managers on specific challenges.
Job Summary
The Manager, People and Learning reports to the Chief Operating Officer and supports Aquifer’s leadership team by cultivating and shaping our collaborative mission-driven culture of excellence. You will be a proactive leader and contributor with a strong passion and capability for defining and managing a high-performance people strategy that aligns with business goals. Driven by the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), you must thrive creating a successful remote-first workplace that fosters learning, growth, collaboration, efficiency and accountability through a technology-forward lens.
Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
Culture
- Embody and champion Aquifer's mission, vision, and core values. Foster a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming work environment that promotes collaboration, trust, and respect.
- Working closely with the executive leadership team, drive Aquifer’s mission-driven and high-performance culture informed by the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
- Ensure an effective remote-first workplace environment for all employees that leverages proven principles and emerging best practices.
- Align people and culture strategies to support organizational change initiatives.
High Performance Teams
- Partner with executive leaders to ensure individual and team performance consistently meets or exceeds established business goals and metrics.
- Design and deliver training and staff development programs to align individual and team knowledge and competencies with strategic, operational, technology and business objectives.
- Facilitate and coach effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Recognize and reward high performance and outstanding contributions to reinforce effective teamwork and outcomes.
Talent Management
- Execute long-term strategies for workforce planning that attracts, recruits, and retains top talent aligned to Aquifer's culture, values, strategic and financial objectives, and future staffing needs.
- Working closely with executive leadership, oversee comprehensive compensation strategies, including salary benchmarking and analysis, to ensure competitive and equitable pay structures.
- Develop and manage key performance and engagement metrics to inform HR/people priorities and initiatives, program effectiveness, and business decision-making.
- Continuously assess and improve employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention through surveys, feedback, and engagement initiatives.
Human Resources Management
- Oversee the full suite of employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, payroll administration, performance management, career development, and off-boarding processes leveraging effective use of HR-related technologies.
- Ensure HR/people policies and processes align with organizational values and comply with best HR management practices and all relevant laws for a national remote-first organization.
- Manage a full employee benefits program that balances Aquifer’s core values, employee wellbeing and fiscal responsibility.
- Partner with executive leadership to align annual HR/people budgets and allocations with Aquifer’s strategic and business objectives and financial forecast.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including employee relations and conflict resolution, compensation, and benefits.
Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. 5 years of HR/people management and culture experience in a related field.
- Excitement about delivering on the organization’s mission and 10-year vision.
- Demonstrated success aligning people strategies and professional development and training to organizational strategic goals and high-performance execution.
- Experience leading effective team and individual engagement in a remote-first or hybrid workplace environment.
- Ability to independently and effectively manage the full employee lifecycle process.
- Technology-savvy with a vision and some experience leveraging AI in the workforce of the future.
- Curious lifelong learner driven to teach, learn and grow.
- Excellent strategic thinking, coaching, communication, and negotiation/conflict resolution skills
- Objective, data-driven mindset and comfort with people-focused budget development and forecasting.
