Summary:
The Region Vice President of Operations at Arby’s will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to positively drive results in the people, performance, and profits pillars across the territory, while fostering a high-performance culture that aligns with the company's values. This role involves building organizational talent, evaluating leadership, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, this position will have accountability for maintaining equipment and facilities and effectively communicating company initiatives and executing company standards. This is a crucial role that requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with teams across the organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Foster a culture of high performance through accountability across all districts, promoting and reinforcing the company values. Maintain a consistent presence in the restaurants to serve as the Operations expert on systems and processes while working directly with all levels of the business to ensure delivery of key performance indicators.
2. Develop and implement strategies to improve the overall profitability and success of the business across all districts, leveraging financial data and identifying trends and areas for improvement. Additionally, coach and provide guidance to district managers on effective restaurant visits and maximizing revenue and profit while ensuring a great experience for guests and team members.
3. Build organizational talent and bench strength across all districts by promoting the development of internal leaders, championing the identification and attraction of high-potential external candidates, and evaluating the performance of each district manager. Oversee the performance and development of managers and restaurants to ensure Nationally Certified Training Restaurants “NCTR” maintain certification and work to obtain new certifications within the region.
4. Effectively and efficiently communicate company initiatives, programs, and key focus areas to district managers, and ensure that these initiatives are executed consistently across all districts. This helps to ensure that all locations are aligned with the overall business strategy and that the company's standards are being upheld.
5. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards: Ensure that all Arby’s locations across all districts comply with safety and regulatory standards, including ServeSafe Food and Ecosure standards, as well as federal, state, and local business and employment laws. This involves ongoing quality assurance and compliance efforts, which includes maintaining a safe working environment for employees and guests.
6. Enforce company policies and procedures among team members: Ensure that all teams across all districts follow company policies and procedures consistently, from uniform standards to food safety protocols.
7. Execute national and local marketing programs by ensuring compliance and share feedback on opportunities that exist with the Operations Leadership Team.
8. Execute goals related to recruitment, retention, technology, process, and profitability. This involves working closely with district managers to develop effective strategies to achieve these goals. Where necessary, effectively collaborate and provide feedback with shared services teams.
Age/Education Qualifications:
Minimum: 4 years’ experience at the District Manager level, 8 years within restaurant management.
Preferred: 6 years’ experience at the District Manager level, 10 years’ experience within restaurant management.
Experience Qualification:
Minimum: 8 years of experience with any combination of restaurant operations experience and education (consider speaking to abilities and skill set instead of tenure of experience.) Certified in any provincial or local food handling.
Preferred: Leadership experience within a corporate structure, experience in multi-unit restaurant environment and experience working in a growth organization.
