The Opportunity
We're looking for a talented and motivated individual to add capacity to our political and public relations team. The ideal candidate would have experience working on political or issue advocacy campaigns. We work with political campaigns, coalitions, issue advocacy organizations, and activists to drive progressive change and elect Democrats across the country.
How You'll Make an Impact
- You will be an integral, full-time staffer on Arc's political and public relations team
- You will draft content that helps amplify client messaging across media channels, such as media advisories, press releases, op-eds, social media toolkits, and statements for frontline groups and allies
- You will track the media narratives on candidates and campaigns
- You will support press logistics and earned media outreach
- You will be an integral leader on one or more of Arc Initiatives' campaign teams, providing direction and mentoring to a team of communicators, content creators, and digital strategists
- You will manage client projects to deliver exceptional service and results
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You have 3-5 years of experience working on campaigns, for elected federal or state government officials, on Capitol Hill, at an advocacy, non-profit, or similar organization. Experience working with BIPOC and frontline communities is encouraged.
- You want a fast-paced environment where you'll continually be challenged and grow your skill sets, all while working on top voter issues during election season.
- You have exceptional writing skills and can produce materials with little oversight or editing needed.
- You have strong self-discipline and time management skills
- You are a strong interpersonal communicator, especially in a remote work situation.
- You're passionate about progressive causes, particularly electing Democrats.
- You have an eye for engaging content, whether a sharply-worded opinion piece or a captivating graphic on Instagram.
Please keep in mind: Research has shown that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds only apply to jobs when they meet 100% of the requirements vs. their majority counterparts, which apply at a much higher rate if they meet 50-60% of the requirements. - Salary Range: $60,000 — $80,000, depending on experience
