Staff Transportation Engineer with Arcadis U.S., Inc. (Atlanta GA)
Reviewing roadway models for construction documents (Construction plans, staging plans, detour plans, right-of-way plans). Inspect and revise report writing, tables and figures to ensure they meet national standards, client's requirements, and codes of practice. Review analyzed data for project delivery and design of engineering solutions. Assign and monitor performance of routine tasks to provide familiarity with engineering, methods, practices, and programs. Quality assure allocated activities to meet budget, timeframe, and quality objectives meeting client expectations. Monitor the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and ensuring resolutions to any issue. Prepared design plans and models (Staging plans, cross sections and profiles, detour plans, right-of-way plans, construction layout plans, and traffic diagrams plans). Completed report writing and completed documentations, under supervision of staff engineer, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client's and company's requirements, meeting national standards, and codes of practice. Investigated and analyzed relevant data for project delivery and design of engineering solutions. Contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to team members. Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design or solution. Liaise with Project Managers/team leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters.
Position allows for remote work and reports to Company’s Office in Atlanta, GA. Must live within reasonable commuting distance.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related field. Position requires 4 years of related engineering experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Create 2D / 3D construction plans using Computer Aided Design Drafting software like Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, and InRoads; Pavement design report writing following DOT design standards and policies; Roadway design including alignment, profiles and cross sections for projects such as interstate widening, interchange/intersection design, roadway drainage design, and highway improvements, based on agency (such as AASHTO, GDOT, Cobb or other Georgia County, and City of Atlanta) design standards and procedures; Layout and development of infrastructure design, including intersections, cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans, and project displays; Concept Report writing following DOT design standards and policies; Design calculations (Cost Estimates, sight distance, pavement design calculations superelevation calculations and analysis, and guardrail length calculations); and Horizontal and vertical alignment design using (Microstation, InRoads, and OpenRoads).
