As a Senior Resilience and Climate Adaptation Specialist, you will use your expertise in climate resilience and adaptation strategies to support, lead, and contribute to community and infrastructure planning, policy, and conceptual design projects, including stakeholder engagement and collaborating with diverse teams, across the United States.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $103,000 - $155,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.

As a Senior Resilience and Climate Adaptation Specialist, you will use your expertise in climate resilience and adaptation strategies to support, lead, and contribute to community and infrastructure planning, policy, and conceptual design projects, including stakeholder engagement and collaborating with diverse teams, across the United States.
Additional responsibilities include:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Project management, including coordinating technical teams and communicating with clients
- Mentoring and overseeing junior staff
- Stakeholder and team engagement and coordination
- QAQC of others’ work products and ensuring quality control procedures are kept
- Conducting climate change impact and risk assessments on assets and developing technical solutions to mitigate the risk and increase the resilience of such assets.
- Working with design teams on coastal and waterfront flood protection and nature-based solutions
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on water resources and resiliency projects.
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports, project proposals, and documentation.
- Evaluating and implementing sustainable stormwater management and flood control solutions.
- Supporting grant applications through task leadership, writing, and associated tasks
- Staying informed on climate adaptation national best practices and innovation, including the policy and funding landscape
- Supporting business development activities, including supporting strategy, preparing proposals, and fostering positive relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Traveling (up to 20%) for project site visits, client meetings, planning, or overseeing activities, depending on project needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
- 8 years of experience in resilience-related work
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both in-person and virtually
- Strong task management and coordination capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 products
- Excellent writing skills
- Experience in consulting environments and client communications
- Experience in consulting and client communications
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), Planning certification (AICP), or Professional Engineer (PE) License
