Deburring Tech

Summary

Detailing involves scraping, grinding, sanding, rounding edges, knocking off burs, and other forms of finishing aluminum, stainless steel, copper, and plastic within a manufacturing setting and to the specifications of the drawing/print.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Scrapes or buffs parts with file, wire brush, or buffing cloth.
• Holds part against buffing or grinding wheel.
• Deburrs or polishes parts.
• Inspect deburred parts.
• Maintain lot traceability.
• At times, additional tasks may be assigned including assembling, boxing for shipment, clean up, assisting maintenance, light forklift driving, lifting heavy objects, moving raw material, recycling, oil and coolant handling.
• Adhere to health and safety laws and policies established by the company.
• Keep an organized and clean workspace.

Education and/or Experience

• Equivalent to high school education or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. 

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
