What are the responsibilities and job description for the GNC - Senior Simulation Engineer position at Archer?
What you’ll do:
- Own the models that simulate our aircraft.
- Improve the fidelity and capabilities of our vehicle and environment simulation such that it can be used for certification
- Analyze flight test data, ground test data, and lab test data to improve our models
- Work with internal and external suppliers to integrate their systems into our simulation
- Collaborate with Systems Safety and Systems Engineering to analyze any deficiencies in the Flight Control System.
What you need:
- Strong knowledge of vehicle (aircraft or rotorcraft) dynamics, control laws, sensor noise, high voltage batteries, and actuators.
- BS in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 7 years of relevant industry experience
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
Bonus Qualifications:
- MS or Phd in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Experience using simulation for certification credit
- Experience applying system identification techniques to aircraft or rotorcraft
- Experience flight testing piloted and/or autonomous aircraft or rotorcraft
- Piloting experience (aircraft or rotorcraft)
