Operating Engineer, Tacoma, WA
Arclin USA is seeking talent for an open Operating Engineer position that we have open within our Tacoma, WA location. Reporting into the Technical Director – Product Development & Applications this position will be responsible for all operation, maintenance and upgrade activities associated with our cutting-edge Pilot Treater. This position will function as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for asset and will advise on all settings and their subsequent outcomes.
Operating Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Consult and assist with all product trials.
- Visually monitors processes and immediately documents and corrects all deviations or abnormalities in the process.
- Write or edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various treater/coater configurations.
- Maintain chemical and/or paper inventories for pilot treater use.
- Ensure treater is cleaned and functional between trials.
- Adjust and modify equipment to meet project needs.
- Coordinate and manage outside vendors/contractors as necessary.
- Perform all repairs and upgrades, as well as simple programming, and coordinate with contractors for tasks that are outside of individual qualifications.
- Follows all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environment.
Operating Engineer Technician I Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific Discipline is highly desired, but not required.
- 5 years’ experience with operating/supervising a moving web treater.
- Strong judgement - work performed on this asset is experimental in nature and not every eventuality can be foreseen; adaption to the situation is a must.
- Ability to use AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and PID diagrams.
- Licensed, or able to be licensed, to operate a Forklift / man lift.
- Familiar with JD Edwards MRP preferred.
- Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in industrial settings for prolonged periods including standing in excess of 10 hour.
