What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Fabricator-Fitter/Tacker position at Arcosa Brand?
Our assemblers get to see what they’ve built on waterways across the country. As a Entry Fitter/Tack Welder at Arcosa Marine, you’ll work with a great group of people who really care about the job you do. You’ll follow specific instructions to perform a variety of routine manual labor tasks or assist skilled workers in simple production, process, or maintenance tasks.
What you’ll do:
- Provide skilled assistance in assigned area
- Tack welding (FCAW)
- Train for additional fitter / fabrication skills
- Assist skilled workers involved in fabricating, welding, assembling, installing, and processing by a variety of functions, such as: sorting and counting, feeding, and unloading parts, sweeping, cleaning, rough painting, and other manual labor tasks as needed
- May perform general, manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you’ll need:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a construction, industrial, or manufacturing environment
- Requires the ability to work with a tape measure and determine center point
- Able to perform basic math
- Able to work effectively in a hot or cold environment while wearing the required PPE
- Desire to learn and train up to the next level as a Fitter
- May require working above ground
- Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.
- May require working in narrow or confined work spaces for extended periods of time
- May require extensive kneeling, bending, walking and/or standing for long periods of time
- Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed
This is an entry level/trainable position. Candidates will need to pass a tack welding test to see if they can be trained in our welding process.
