What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ladle Operator position at Arcosa?
McConway & Torley, LLC, an Arcosa company, is a leading manufacturer of railcar coupling devices in North America. McConway & Torley is currently searching for Ladle Operators to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA.
As a Ladle Operator you will need to meet ladle availability (turnaround time of ladle) and ensure no delay in ladle delivery for next tap. You will assist with tapping of heat (stabilizing the ladle and adding insulate material).
Job Summary:
- Assists ladle man to meet ladle availability (turnaround time of ladle) ensures no delay in ladle delivery for next tap.
- Assists with tapping of heat (stabilizing the ladle and adding insulate material).
- Assists with proper placement, pouring and retrieval of keel blocks.
- Completes application and timing of hot top.
- Assists hot metal crane man with hooking and unhooking ladles.
- Assists with setting of stopper rods.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturer environment
- Must be able to work any shift and overtime hours.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
