The Area Manager will be responsible maintaining and managing the company standards within the local Inspections Team. In addition, the position involves training team members on inspections and working directly with clients to assist with building science education and issue resolution. This is not an entry-level position. Position involves interaction and coordination with builder clients, internal employees and the management team. Excellent time management and project prioritization is required. This position is full time exempt salaried role.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain communication with your inspection team
- Help with overflow inspections and QA requirements when necessary
- Assist with tasks such as permit docs, code forms and take offs when needed for time sensitive requests
- Train new hires and existing employees where improvement is needed
- Track your inspection team’s equipment needs, repairs and calibration monthly
- Familiarize yourself with local codes and requirements to stay ahead of changes in your market
- Communicate with clients in your market to ensure that we are maintaining quality and consistency
- Train builders and trade partners in the field to help improve quality and efficiency
- Research potential clients in your market and forward information to the sales manager
- Provide additional support to outer markets such as TN, SC and NC may be required from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Five or more years of residential construction or energy auditing experience OR 2-year degree in a related field.
- Knowledge and experience with residential building science, residential energy efficiency and residential building construction.
- BPI Building Analyst or RESNET Rater Field Inspector certifications is preferred
- Code / Energy inspector preferred.
- Capacity and desire to learn more about the industry
- Physical ability to work on ladders and enter attics, basements, and other confined areas of a home.
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. of equipment repeatedly throughout the day.
- Valid Driver’s license, good driving record and reliable vehicle required.
- Basic computer and keyboard competency and familiarity with MS Word & MS Excel.
- Must be able to pass a background check requirement.
- Possesses leadership skills and teamwork attitude.
- Punctual, polite and professional manner required.
- Ability to communicate with others effectively, both orally and in writing, in a professional and competent manner;
- Demonstrated strong organization and time management, which includes the ability to multi-task and run multiple projects concurrently.
