Job Title: Handyman

Position Summary:

Handyman to do electrical, plumbing and building repairs. These tasks include trade skills, repair work, maintenance work, etc.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

· Electrical: replacing light fixtures, ballast, wall outlet and light switch etc.

· Plumbing: replace toilet bowls, sinks and faucets, operate a snake to unclog all types of drains, trouble-shoot flushometers, tank and bowl toilets, shower bodies etc.

· Building repairs: paint, plaster and compound, install vinyl and wood ceramic floors, carpet tiles, install doors and door locks, trouble-shoot door locks, basic framing and sheet rocking, assemble furniture, familiar with all power and hand tools, familiar with all building materials, etc.

· Must be able to travel and work out of other assigned facilities (Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and or Long Island

· Must be able to work some weekends and holidays as required by schedule

Handyman qualifications/criteria:

· A minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a similar role

· Experience with plumbing and electrical

· Sheet-rocking, taping, compounding, plaster and painting

· Wood and metal stud framing

· Experience installing ceramic, wood and vinyl floors

· Must be knowledgeable with the names and sizes of all types of hardware, tools and building materials

· Experience with operating common hand and power tools

· Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.

· Conduct performance assessments of company appliances, such as HVAC system, refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens, Ice machines ETC.

· Experience with repairing doors and door locks

· Experience assembling office furniture

· MUST have a NYS driver’s license

· Must be extremely organized with a positive attitude and good communication skills.

Education:

· High school diploma or GED
