Job Summary
Accountable for the overall success of the daily kitchen operations. Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions. Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. Supervises all banquet operations to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is produced. Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports. Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved. Works in tandem with the Executive Chef to ensure all culinary operations are performing efficiently.

What will I be doing?
In the kitchen of Arizona Country Club, the culinary staff will be held to exacting standards. A Banquet Chef will help to develop a team of consummate professionals. Our goal is to create a kitchen full of skilled and versatile cooks. The Banquet Chef will direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items. They may also order supplies. Supervise other kitchen staff.
Responsibilities will include the following tasks performed to the highest standards:
- Communicate consistently and efficiently with the Executive Chef.
- Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
- Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met.
- Order or requisition food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and food preparation workers.
- Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
- Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
- Managing quality and food cost issues.
- Perform daily ordering for the banquets.
- Ensure that the kitchen is up to health department standards at all times.
- Oversee the main kitchen.
- Stay up to date with culinary trends. Use creativity when writing menus to stay up to date.
- Support country club as needed.
- Special projects as assigned by management.

Salary
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and is aligned with premier clubs.
Required Experience?
2-5 years of experience in the service industry is required. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Required Education?
High school graduate or GED equivalent required; vocational school preferred. Valid Arizona Food Handler's card.
Working Conditions
Must be able to work in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled work area. Must be able to see and work with customers and work in an open area with other employees. The employee will come in contact with cutlery, graters, slicers, ranges, heat, chemicals, and cleaning solvents as necessary.
Physical Requirements
The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. The ability to listen to others and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to stand for long periods. The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. The ability to bend and squat. Must be able to lift and/or carry at least fifty pounds.
