Reports to Director, Capital Projects and Construction and functionally reports to Steering Committee of the project.
Key Activities & Responsibilities

Lead team of internal and external resources to develop early stages of a capital project from technology development through commissioning and startup (60%)
- Conduct internal alignment meetings
- Interface with external engineering, construction, material and service providers
- Lead stage gate process and ensure quality of deliverables
- Reviews and approves designs, estimates and execution strategies
- Functionally supervises team members
- Engage subject matter experts as required, including multi-national team members
- Assemble and present project updates to business leadership and other project stakeholders (10%)
- Ensure critical project reviews are conducted in coordination with other functional departments (10%)
- Coordinate with internal goods and services department for vendor and service provider engagement (10%)
- Accountable for managing KPIs to control project and maintain project objectives, identify and communicate project risks and implement appropriate action plans (10%)
Context & Environment
- Domestic and International Travel required 50%
- Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
- Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Based Safety, Corporate Sustainability Requirements, etc.)
- Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
Required Education/Qualification/Work Experience
- Position requires a B.S. in Engineering from an accredited College/University.
- 15 or more years of project engineering/management experience in chemicals and/or special materials industry
Other requirements:
- Basic understanding of chemical process industry;
- Basic understanding of environmental and safety issues associated with the chemical process industry;
- Basic knowledge of project related design and construction field, including vessel design, piping, instrument/electrical, civil/structural, process and environmental;
- Understanding and experience with cost and schedule software; and CAD system understanding.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate project activities
- Ability to work with and influence resources external to Arkema
- Demonstrated strong negotiating skills
- Have successfully managed multiple EPCM/EPC projects in the range of $1- $50 million
- Strong background in scheduling, cost estimating, and project controls is a plus
- Position requires a strong knowledge of contracting strategies, cost estimating, project controls, and project scheduling and schedule control.
- Position requires communication of project status at executive Committee level as well as at project Steering Committee level, both in the Americas and globally.
- Position requires strong understanding of the technical aspects of process and project development at early phases of the projects as well as at execution.
