What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director Non-Profit position at Arlington BID?
Thank you for your interest in becoming the next Executive Director for the Arlington Business Improvement District or (ABID). The ABID is a nonprofit entity dedicated to the revitalization and beautification of the Arlington Business District.
Our vision for Arlington is to continue creating a vibrant business district steeped in history. The fundamental goal of our thriving commercial district is to attract a wide variety of retail shops, restaurants, and convenience-related businesses to be enjoyed by community members in a safe, beautiful environment.
Duties for the Arlington BID Director
- Return phone calls and answer emails. Check PO Box and answer correspondents that the ABID receives. This includes the purchase of stamps and envelopes as needed for mailings or the payment of bills.
- Ensure all bills are paid and bank deposits are made on time
- Keep a file of W-9s of all people or organizations that we do business with in the Business District and coordinate with the Town to Ensure the ABID is funded for each fiscal year.
- Regularly check the condition of the sidewalks and landscaping on Raymond Avenue to ensure that it is well kept and litter free.
- Interact with the landscaper. Obtain quotes and negotiate contract with the selected landscaper.
- Ensure that seasonal decorations are in place on Raymond Avenue in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate or provide updates to the website and regularly check the web site that it is current and correct.
- Assist in the planning and organization of the Street Fair and other events, including getting the necessary permits.
- Preparing an agenda and attending monthly ABID meetings to provide a report to the board.
- Run the Arlington Farmers Market including corresponding with vendors, interviewing and screening vendors, collecting fees and maintaining accounts, promoting the farmers market, assigning spots for vendors, and being present at each farm market.
- Actively promoting the ABID and the businesses of the ABID. Including coordinating the advertising placements online and through other outlets for special events.
- When new businesses open, visit to get contact information and update our business listings and coordinate ways to promote this business on social media.
- Maintaining BID's records, including contracts and event documents
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
