Management Trainee

Role:
Responsible for working alongside managers and staff members and accepting delegated responsibilities and duties with the goal of eventually becoming a Credit Union manager. The trainee will work to understand credit union operations and procedures by performing assigned projects and responsibilities throughout various credit union departments. These include, but are not limited to, teller functions, account servicing, compliance, collections, lending, branch operations, and administrative functions.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• (45%) Receives training and performs duties in several departments with an emphasis on branch operations. Other functional areas include: teller functions, account servicing; compliance, collections; lending; and administrative functions.
• (25%) Learns production, administrative and management viewpoints and company policies and practices that affect each phase of business. Gain knowledge of company policies, protocols, and processes.
• (15%) Monitors processes and procedures in various department, identifying areas to be improved and recommending alternatives to management.
• (10%) Complete all assigned tasks and assist with day-to-day operations. Participate in meetings, workshops, and other learning opportunities
• (5%) Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. Develop and maintain current knowledge of the credit union's operational and lending standards, policies and procedures, and applicable governmental rules and regulations.
2. Monitor departmental processes, identify areas of weakness and strength, and recommend potential alternative solutions to current processes.
3. Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting any department.
4. Communicate, assist, and team build with all other departments.
5. Provide informed, prompt, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and staff.
6. To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, accurate manner.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education A bachelor's degree is required.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills Experience in all aspects of lending including real estate, commercial, and consumer. A business-related degree is preferred. Capable of operating spreadsheets and word processing programs. Must have good communication skills.
Physical Requirements The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Environment Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office environment.
