Position Summary
Provide support for bartenders during setup, during service, and through assistance with closing responsibilities. Interacts with guests in a friendly fashion and helps to take care of their needs or communicate them to the bartenders as appropriate.
Departmental Responsibilities
- Greets and acknowledges guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Complete all opening, closing and running side work tasks, included but not limited to: Stocking, replenishing, cleaning, maintenance and preparation of beverages under the guidance of the Bartenders.
- Maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glassware, flatware, plate ware, beverage napkins, straws, drink supplies, condiments, mixes, etc.
- Washes glasses and other serving equipment at bars as appropriate.
- Stocks refrigeration units with wine, beer, fruit, herbs, etc.
- Replaces and maintains items related to the soda gun and draft beer systems as needed, including but not limited to soda syrups, CO2 and nitrogen tanks, beer, or champagne kegs, etc.
- Regularly replenishes ice at the bar and informs management immediately if the ice machine is holding a low amount of ice or appears to be operating inefficiently or is failing to operate altogether.
- Cleans and polishes bars, counters, shelves, equipment, bar stools, etc. This may include maintenance, cleaning and resetting of tables in the general vicinity of the bar.
- Prepares various food items needed in the preparation of drinks.
- Disposes of trash as needed, including at the end of the shift.
- Comply with and execute all ARP policies and procedures regarding guest credentials to establish legal drinking age and identity, as well as other company policies regarding responsible alcohol service.
- Takes initiative to maintain a working knowledge of health code requirements and executes steps to ensure these requirements are met before and during service.

Qualifications
Previous experience as a barback, busser or food runner is preferred, but not required. Must speak basic English. Must be able to work well under pressure and be self-motivated. Must have good organizational, time management and sales skills. Must possess verbal communication skills to relay basic information. Must be dependable, reliable and be driven with minimal supervision. Must possess a high level of awareness, attention to detail and follow-through. Must be both effective and efficient at multi-tasking in pressure situations.
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
Position requires sitting, handling, eye-hand coordination, stooping, kneeling, and walking/standing for multiple hours in succession. This position may on occasion require the lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing of up to approximately 21-50lbs. Must be able to withstand changes to temperature, occasional smoke, steam and heat. Must be able to work in a confined area for multiple hours in succession.
Must be able to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear effectively with surrounding background noise. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must possess adequate sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situations. Must be able to add, subtract, multiple and divide at a basic level.
