Role: Certified Medical Dosimetrist
Location: Fairfield, CA
We are seeking a Dosimetrist to join our team. The Dosimetrist will be responsible for designing radiation treatment plans for cancer patients, using sophisticated computer programs and specialized equipment to calculate the precise dose of radiation that is delivered to the patient's tumor. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in radiation therapy and medical physics, as well as experience in working with patients and radiation oncologists.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop radiation treatment plans using computer software and specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to develop treatment plans that meet the specific needs of each patient.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure accurate and safe treatment delivery.
- Monitor the patient's response to treatment and make adjustments to the treatment plan as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatment plans and patient progress.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in radiation therapy technology and techniques.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medical Dosimetry, Radiation Therapy or a related field.
- Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or eligible for certification.
- Strong understanding of medical physics, radiation therapy, and anatomy.
- Proficiency in computer software and specialized equipment used in radiation therapy treatment planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
