We manage several properties for Housing Authorities and other service providers in the affordable housing industry.

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities, which include a variety of apartment buildings and residential rental properties. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical and carpentry skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment, appliances, and apartment fixtures.

- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems

- Operate machinery, including lawn tractors and mowers and snow removal equipment

- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively

- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks based on urgency

- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and ensure smooth operations

- Supervise contractors and vendors when necessary

- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly

Skills:

- Strong electrical knowledge and experience working with electrical systems, breakers, outlets, switches, and fixtures

- Strong plumbing knowledge and experience repairing clogged drains, repairing toilets, and troubleshooting other plumbing issues

- Strong carpentry knowledge and experience patching drywall, removing and installing trim, hanging doors, adjusting hinges, painting, and prepping apartments

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

- Experience in facilities maintenance is preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
