The Marketing Manager oversees the overall marketing strategy and execution for their assigned strategic suppliers. Ensures alignment of all marketing activities to overall business plans and sales objectives, including those executed by other corporate marketing functions and business units. Works with sales counterparts in the development and implementation of go-to-market and marketing plans specific to their suppliers or technology markets that increase sales of the supplier’s products and solutions, increase Arrow’s market share and visibility within the solution area, and meet or exceed assigned recovery goals. Develop and maintain a high level of rapport with internal and external stakeholders as the role requires extensive collaboration. Leads the marketing strategy planning processes for all areas, including go to market and demand generation plans for IBM. Provides end-to-end oversight for all IBM supplier marketing activities to ensure alignment to overall strategy and flawless execution. Drives and motivates the team for delivering outcome using performance marketing with the ability to course correct activities based on KPIs and sales performance. Manages the IBM marketing budget and forecast in collaboration with the supplier, channel, and account teams to ensure effective use of MDF as well as non-MDF marketing budget.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Responsible for providing strategic leadership and ensuring the successful alignment of goals and objectives for IBM relationship, which are somewhat complex in nature and have significant impact on the business unit's profitability and strategic direction
- Leads the development of multi-touch and multi-channel marketing strategy and experiences to promote IBM products and solutions. Uses effective internal and external performance benchmarks in planning and pitching effective campaigns to the suppliers resulting in approvals. - Owns Marketing investment and spending strategy to deliver ROI through effective marketing execution (by Shared Services) against the marketing plans.
- Uses marketing campaign brief development methodology to create effective campaign plans, aligns business and suppliers on those plans, gets sign-off from the suppliers and then works with shared services organization to execute and tracks the effectiveness of marketing investments with help from the Marketing Effectiveness team
- Using advanced understanding of supplier’s go-to-market strategies, product/solution positioning and messaging and target audiences/personas, creates high-impact supplier marketing campaigns to gain market share and also creates marketing qualified opportunities from suitable buyers across all supplier offering
- Analyzes and articulates campaign effectiveness and metrics to supplier, partner and Arrow stakeholders including but not limited to MQLs, Pipeline Value and Estimated Revenue as marketing return on investment (ROI)
- Becomes the face of Arrow ECS Marketing to the supplier community. Single point of contact for all planned or unplanned campaigns. Monitors closely the progress made on the execution of the campaigns with shared services team or any agencies working on the campaign activities
- Applies a deep understanding of Arrow's value proposition, initiatives, and programs (including branded enablement programs) to guide marketing planning and strategies for the suppliers
- Uses approved Marketing campaign workflows to interact with other marketing teams and Learns marketing best practices and benchmarks (and/or A/B tests results) from Shared Services and Marketing Effectiveness teams and uses those in the planning and pitching process with the suppliers
- Manages and governs marketing campaign budget(s). Governs and approves spend of marketing budget against the plan campaigns and helps Marketing Effectiveness team in ensuring the accuracy of ROI reports
- Research and implement cross-partner lead generation programs with field marketing counterparts
What We Are Looking For
- Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a 4-year degree; or 6 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6 years in a strategic channel marketing role
- Minimum 4 years strategic marketing plan creation experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle several projects at one time.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- P&L Management experience strongly preferred
