Cost Accountant

SUMMARY:

As our Cost Accountant, you will take a lead role in the analysis and preparation of all aspects of inventory and manufacturing cost information. You will need to bring a combination of strong technical knowledge and communication skills to facilitate confident interaction and exchange of information with team members in all areas of the company.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Month-end closing duties, reconciliations, and analysis relating to inventory as well as the income statement to the gross margin level, including standard cost of sales and variances.
• Maintain routings and structures within the ERP system, and inventory part master. Interact with all relevant departments to ensure accurate and timely updates related to product changes.
• Prepare inventory part costings for new products or for sales quotations.
• Work with Manufacturing to develop relevant metrics to measure manufacturing performance.
• Provide support and guidance to relevant departments to assist them in understanding and improving costs and margins. Visibility on the plant floor is necessary to achieve this goal.
• Take the lead in considering and introducing new costing methodologies
• Assist with the compilation and analysis of the annual budget.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• To contribute to other committees or initiatives as needed.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

• Professional accounting designation
• 5-10 years’ experience in a cost accounting role with exposure to general accounting functions.
• Hands on experience working on the plant floor with operators/engineers to validate costing assumptions.
• Advanced knowledge of excel, analytical systems (Power Bl, Tableau, etc.) and ERP systems (IFS preferred) in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong aptitude for learning and understanding systems (reporting, process, software) and methods.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
