Responsibilities
•Analyzes defective equipment and diagnoses malfunctions utilizing motor analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts and factory manuals.•Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs general vehicle/equipment, to include oil changes, transmission fluid changes, antifreeze, filters, batteries, tires, breaks, suspension systems, overhauls, generators, distributors, pumps and body work.•Prepares and maintains documentation on repairs and services.•Schedules routine maintenance and repairs. Performs safety inspections on service vehicles.•Orders parts for the completion of maintenance and repair.•Coordinates and negotiates outside repairs and services.•Coordinates warranty repairs with appropriate vendor.•Replaces defective break shoes or linings.•Rebuilds parts, pumps, motors, axles and other components, as needed.•Performs safety inspections on service vehicles.•Overhauls or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors and pumps.•Adheres to established guidelines for the proper handling and utilization of hazardous materials.•Completes all required documentation on services.•Provides “on call" coverage, as necessary.
Qualifications
A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred as well as 2-4 years of vehicle/equipment mechanical repair experience, ASE Certified. Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Master Automobile Technician desired. A valid driver’s license is required. Qualified Candidates must pass a drug, criminal background, and MVR check.
