What you will be doing
- You’ll be responsible for shaping the campaign concepts, leading and delivering link building and content marketing strategies to generate high quality, relevant links and coverage and reporting back on performance metrics.
- You will be involved in the full campaign process, from brainstorming initial ideas, to devising outreach strategies, liaising with clients, press teams and influencers, and project managing the outreach of their campaigns.
- Confident identifying opportunities and proposing the right strategy for clients, forging the right relationships to generate high-quality coverage across press and social for a variety of industries including retail, travel and tech.
- You will lead the outreach approach for creative campaigns during the ideation stage for clients including discovery and brainstorming sessions, creating initial lists and vetting relevant targets, contributing to campaign pitch decks and delivering concepts to clients
- You will own the entire outreach process, from the initial planning to launch, ongoing management and reporting, leading innovation and outreach best practice within the team
- To build and maintain strong relationships and contacts with relevant press and outreach targets, ensuring this remains relevant and up to date for client campaigns
- To maintain an up-to-date understanding of current outreach/digital pr and link building approaches, SEO and emerging digital design trends, digital content developments and tools to ensure our content output is of the highest quality.
New business and client work
- You will work on new business pitches and the development of the Artefact outreach strategy in the UK, feeding into the global proposition.
- Build influential relationships with key client decision makers where they trust and value your opinion and seek advice on Outreach
- You will work in collaboration with the Business Directors and the wider vertical teams and their specialisms to ensure you are the ‘go to’ person for Outreach projects
- Proactively create new business opportunities in the area of Outreach through conference presentations, event networking, cultivating and engaging social presence
Outreach leadership
- Work with the Head of SEO to champion Outreach development and associated platforms on three fronts – internally to the agency, externally to clients and to represent Artefact’s position to the wider marketing community
- You will manage a team of one Outreach-specific individual, however work in to the wider content team assessing gaps and allocating resources where needed
- Develop specific areas of our Outreach strategy, process and techniques and develop best practice documentation, frameworks and sign off processes as agreed with the Head of SEO, ensuring that this drives and develops the wider agency process
- Take responsibility for the sharing of best practice, showing the agency ‘what good looks like’ by ensuring the best quality Outreach work within the agency is celebrated and showcased, as well as identifying where work could be improved in future and building and delivering training around this.
- Actively seek to build Artefact’s profile within the digital marketing community, for example through speaking opportunities, blogs, networking and conferences
- You will understand the latest Outreach principle and finding new and effective ways on engaging with online communities.
Skills required
- Strong and proven experience delivering successful link building campaigns
- Good contacts across industries and within the influencer market
- Excellent understanding of SEO, content marketing, target and audience prospecting and how this should be applied to outreach strategies
- You’ll have three- five years’ marketing agency experience
- Experience of creating digital content strategies, and executing top quality content, on behalf of consumer brands
- Well versed in using a range of digital platforms to deliver a message
- A grasp of all web, social media and CRM content management systems
- Passionate about digital media and always up-to-date with the latest developments
- Comfortable working with and presenting to clients. Ability to communicate technical and creative ideas effectively in a business context
- Innovative problem-solver who can identify issues and deliver solutions quickly
- Ability to move seamlessly between hands-on delivery, reviewing work and thought leadership
- Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating with and contributing to the projects of other team members
- You will be able to draw meaningful reports to show the results of your campaigns.
- You must know how to use various offsite analysis tools (ahrefs, Majestic, Moz, Social Listening Tools, Media Monitoring Tools).
- You have knowledge of cross-channel strategies.
