Main Objective:
The Learning Experience Designer plays a crucial role in shaping transformative learning experiences, leveraging expertise in Learning Design and Technology across diverse responsibilities. Navigating the full life cycle of instructional design, the Learning Experience Designer develops clear and effective performance objectives, designs effective and engaging digital learning experiences, and uses advanced evaluation strategies to ensure a robust user experience and impactful learning outcomes. The Learning Experience Designer will demonstrate proficiency in technology through online course development, video production, and graphic design. This role will effectively navigate a rapidly growing organization, building strategic business relationships, showcasing flexibility in managing priorities, and aligning learning initiatives to evolving business needs. This individual will collaborate with stakeholders to propose business recommendations and contribute to success metric development. The Learning Experience Designer excels in project management, leading complex projects to deliver rapid value to positively impact the business. Lastly, this role’s focus on user experience involves applying design thinking, rapid prototyping, and agile methodologies to enhance learning experiences, contributing to innovation, and conducting user tests for continuous improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Adaptive Performance:
- Demonstrate solid consultative skills, build strong business partner relationships, and exhibit flexibility and creativity in managing competing priorities.
- Proactively manage learning design and development issues, showcasing problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.

- Establish collaborative partnerships with strategic partners and stakeholders to align business strategy with learning initiatives.
Instructional Design:
- Manage the instructional design process, applying expertise across the full life cycle of instructional design to create effective learning materials and resources.
- Write clear and effective performance objectives aligned with the design and evaluation of learning programs.
- Design, curate, and roll out digital learning experiences for learning programs.
Evaluation:
- Execute evaluation strategies for programs, maintain metrics and dashboards for reporting, and assess learning effectiveness.
- Analyze digital learning content and experiences and recommend continuous improvement methods.
- Utilize strong success metrics to monitor and evaluate the impact and ROI of learning content.
- Incorporate customer insights from analytics and interactions into design decisions.
Technology:
- Utilize expertise in online course development, video production, website development, and graphic design.
- Demonstrate knowledge of software and hardware used in technology-based instruction, including learning management systems (Intellum) and authoring tools (Evolve).
- Stay current with emerging technology trends for content creation, such as gamification, social learning, virtual reality, augmented reality, podcasts, etc.
- Experience with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premier, After Effects, Camtasia) and eLearning development software (e.g., Evolve).
Project Management:
- Exhibit strong project management skills, leading multiple, complex projects in a matrixed environment.
- Use project management skills to develop outcomes that positively impact the business.
Business Positioning:
- Propose recommendations that align with business needs, framing learning as a business value proposition.
- Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, interpret context and data to frame business cases, and align learning efforts with strategic capabilities.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of success metrics for professional offerings.
Adult Learning:
- Apply knowledge of adult learning theory, principles, and practices to create engaging, learner-centered experiences across various formats.
- Conduct learner analyses to understand target audience characteristics.
- Share expertise in adult learning approaches with the broader team.
User Experience:
- Apply design thinking, rapid prototyping, and agile methodologies to enhance learning experiences.
- Support innovation lab ideas and projects through design thinking and stage gate frameworks.
- Lead design sprints and ideation exercises, utilizing UX prototyping software and content authoring tools.
- Conduct user tests to improve designs and products.
Knowledge/Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theories
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders to achieve business goals
- Ability to apply learning design principles to digital content creation
- Strong skills in Evolve content authoring
- Demonstrated experience working in learning management systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills, oral, written, and business communications skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively under pressure
- Skilled at project management within large organizations
- Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Self-directed work habits, applied with creativity, resourcefulness, and a sense of personal responsibility
Experience:
- 3 years of experience designing and developing learning solutions
- Proven experience and understanding of instructional design and principles of adult learning
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Evolve authoring software
- Experience with graphic design technologies including Photoshop, Adobe Premier, Camtasia, and SnagIt
- Project management experience preferred
Education Required:
- Master’s degree preferred in Learning Experience Design, Learning Design, Instructional Design, or closely related field.
- Project Management certification, i.e., PMP, or similar preferred
