What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pastry Chef position at Artisan Cakery?
The Artisan Cakery is a locally owned bakery here in Knoxville, TN. The Artisan Cakery is not just your average Cake shop. We have created a warm environment that encourages our guests to dine in and enjoy a nice beverage made by a Barista while enjoying their sweet treat. We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to help prepare a variety of freshly baked cakes that can be served by the slice, pastries, macaroons, and other sweet treats. Here at Artisan Cakery, we pride ourselves on our hand-crafted deserts. We are looking for candidates who not only have experience but also are creative.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, mousse cakes, tarts, macaroons, eclairs, and pastries following our recipes.
- Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customer.
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
- Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
- Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Organizing and leadership skills
- Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
- Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
