Facility Director of Maintenance
Local San Antonio facility looking for a skilled and driven Maintenance Director to join our team!
Reports To Administrator
Job Summary: Administers and directs program to maintain department functions, buildings, grounds, purchasing and equipment to procure or generate all utilities and their distribution systems; coordinates these activities with the other departments to insure safe and efficient operations. Attends staff meetings to ascertain facility policies, assists in their development, and interprets these policies to staff. Direct safety, fire control, security and civil-defense programs and participate in facility infection- control program. Will be directly involved in the operations of Housekeeping, Laundry, and Purchasing, however, additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Duties
- Plans and recommends development of physical facility.
- Directs overall facility maintenance and appearance; responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance and functionality of the facility.
- Identifies employee resources and expertise and utilizes employee experience and skills to plan, schedule, assign and perform maintenance, custodial and other activities.
- Conducts ongoing training and inspections.
- Works with leadership to coordinate essential support at events, activities, department changes and / or other applicable events that effect the assigned staffing.
- Ensures that service and purchasing requests are completed in an appropriate and timely manner and closed or referred according to procedure.
- Establishes and administers preventative maintenance program
- Analyze costs; sets priorities; expedites operations
- Periodically inspects buildings and utility systems to determine need of alterations andrepairs
- Accompanies appropriate State and local authorities inspecting buildings and systems
- Works with office equipment, specifications, manuals, and reports
- Must be familiar with building maintenance techniques, equipment and operation of plumbing and heating systems; fire and safety regulations and procedures
- Obtains knowledge of State and local buildings and sanitation codes
- Must be able to investigate all new trends, techniques and advancements in the health carefield 19. Perform other appropriate and reasonable requested duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Verbal ability is required to communicate with staff, contractors and others to gather andanalyze data for reports and to keep informed of new development
- Numerical ability is required in all aspects of the position including to prepare departmental budgets and estimates
- Ability to analyze, organize and delegate
- High school graduate or GED required. Two years in a supervisory capacity in maintenance/custodial or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Lifting Requirements
Semi- Sedentary: Sits and walks throughout workday. Stooping and climbing in inspecting and directing work, handling and manipulation office equipment and materials. Talking and hearing for frequent communication with staff and others. Works outside and inside, visits all areas of the hospital and supporting facilities, may be required to work long hours in emergencies.
