Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, establishes, and directs the overall operations of the Nursing Department to provide comprehensive, holistic care for residents.
- Oversees the recruitment and employment of all pertinent operational staff in consultation with HR and reviews training records of nursing staff to ensure compliance with mandatory in-service programs for nursing associates.
- Monitors and assures that nursing staffing ratios meet resident acuity requirements and are within approved budget requirements.
- Conducts quality assurance rounds, makes rounds with Nurse Managers, and conducts weekly or bi-weekly rounds with Administrator and/or Assistant Administrator to review operations of the Nursing Department.
- Oversees/reviews nursing documentation routinely ensuring timeliness/accuracy of nursing assessment, baseline careplan development, comprehensive careplan development, accurate order entry, compliance with required GNA documentation, and documentation as required to maintain Medicare/Medicaid certification.
- Coordinates and implements quality assurance programs (infection control monitoring tools) with Quality Assurance/Infection Control Coordinator and aids in maintaining and developing restorative care programs with Director of Rehabilitation and restorative care aides; oversees maintenance and improvement of facility CMI.
- Oversees the MDS Department; ensures compliance with MDS accuracy, timeliness, and coordinating training needs of the department.
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of managerial experience in geriatric nursing with at least 5 years of experience in management/supervisory long term care.
- BSN Preferred, AA Required
- Masters in Nursing preferred
- Current Registered Nurse licensed in the State of PA
- Certification in Gerontology preferred
