Responsibilities

Ascension St. John Center for Wellness in Roseville, Michigan is looking to add a new full-time, certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to their well-established, busy outpatient primary care practice. 

 

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with the physicians to provide premium personalized health to their patients. There are three BC Family Medicine physicians and one BC OB/GYN physician who sees Gynecology patients only. 

 

Position Highlights:

  • Office hours are Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. one physician sees patients until 8:00 p.m. on Mondays.
  • On-site ancillary services include point of care testing and office-based procedures.
  • Types of visits include acute care, Medicare Wellness visits and preventative care.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
  • Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Physician Assistant:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

Nurse Practitioner:

&bull BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
&bull Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
&bull Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

 

Education:

Physician Assistant:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Nurse Practitioner:

&bull Master's degree of Nursing required.

 

 

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

  • Interest in primary care, flexibility and demonstrates a willingness to work as a cohesive and collaborative team to provide high-quality, health care to new and established patients of all ages. 
  • New graduates or those with 1-2 years of prior experience as a PA/NP in a primary care setting are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be able to meet requirements for State of Michigan and DEA licensure required.
