What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN-Emergency Dept, FT, Days position at Ascension?
We are hiring in our Emergency Department at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital, located in Elgin, IL! If you are a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of acute care nursing experience looking to work in a Level II Trauma Center, this role is for you.
Looking to add the following to our growing team:
- Full-Time Evenings Shifts (7AM-7:30PM) working three shifts weekly , rotating weekends and holidays
This role is eligible for a $10,000.00 sign-on bonus (ED RN with 1 year of experience/part time is eligible for $5,000.00 sign-on bonus), provided you successfully complete all pre-employment requirements subject to the terms and conditions of the offer. Former associates of six months or less are not eligible.

What You Will Do
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
