What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Specialist position at Ascensus?
Section 1: Position Summary
The Marketing Specialist position is responsible for the creation, execution, and tracking of marketing programs, strategy, and tactics to reach and impact target audiences. The position has a high level of knowledge and is responsible for delivering marketing programs that assist with business growth, client retention, relationship and brand building. The Marketing Specialist contributes to excellent customer service and teamwork by collaborating and interacting with internal team members and external shareholders as needed.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource to support sales department and other internal teams to positively impact line of business sales, company growth and retention, and participant engagement
- Assist in marketing strategic planning and develop needed marketing initiatives to drive departmental, line of business, and corporate goals
- Develop and help design tailored, impactful content, materials, and email campaigns for key audiences that educate and inspire
- Assist with developing and publishing website and social media content
- Assist with maintaining client and participant messaging within partner technology platforms used for account management
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of industry and competitive trends and use to inform marketing strategy and initiatives
- Evaluate and summarize marketing effectiveness across all channels, and make recommendations for changes or enhancements
- Support and reinforce company brand standards in all internal and external communications and materials
- Help coordinate, support, and participate in industry and company events
- Serve on cross-functional teams and work independently
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- A minimum of two years of marketing or communications experience
- Ability to write and communicate effectively and professionally across multiple mediums, including digital, social, and print
- Excellent presentation, communication, critical thinking, project management and organization skills
- Ability to perform duties with accuracy, strong attention to detail, and adaptability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, including Adobe lnDesign and Photoshop Elements
- Ability to read workplace rules and procedures
- This position requires minimal travel
Preferred Education and Experience
- Prior exposure to client relationship management and marketing automation software (e.g., Pardot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Prior understanding of healthcare benefit plans or employee benefits administration industry
- Prior work experience in marketing, communications, or sales in a fast-paced business environment
- Prior work experience supporting or developing brand and sales enablement initiatives
