Purpose of the Job
Direct, lead and supervise the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Ensure that processes and products are in compliance with QMS and customer requirements. The Quality Manager will manage a team of Quality personnel to ensure the administration of the company s quality, process and/or business improvement efforts. This position is responsible for interfacing with engineering, production, customers, and suppliers on quality and lean/continuous improvement related issues.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Verifies the overall conformance of parts produced to Engineering, customer and company specifications
- Serves as the primary focal point for any Quality related issues
- Responsible for reporting as requested by senior management
- Ensures that division is properly prepared for internal, customer and/or third-party audits and ensures audits are properly managed
- Contributes to the updating of procedures as the Company grows.
- Responsible for managing all Quality Assurance personnel within the site
- Provides necessary training for personnel managed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Works with process owners and staff to drive continuous improvement activities
- Works with manufacturing engineers to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective way of producing the highest quality product possible.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Quality or technical field or relevant Quality experience in machined part manufacturing.
Experience:
- Key experience desired: CNC Metals Machining, Chemical processing (e.g. plating, anodizing, priming and painting), Nadcap and Lean Manufacturing.
- Minimum of 3 years of Management experience required - in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance preferably in an Aerospace manufacturing environment desired
- ASQ certification is preferred
- A solid understanding of lean principles and aerospace manufacturing processes preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive resolution or solutions from data
- Ability to develop and implement action steps and follow up with the people responsible for them
- Strong oral and written communication skills with Microsoft Office experience
- Must be detail oriented and results driven
- Basic math skills
- Ability to self-prioritize multiple and conflicting tasks
- Organized, on-time, and detailed project management skills
- Energized attitude
- Takes initiative and displays a pro-active professional attitude
