Job Description
As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will work as a part of the Desktop Services team involved with providing advanced technical support and issue resolution to internal and external customers, which may include users of all types and skill levels. Responsibilities may also include security access processing, ID tracking, maintenance of reporting logs, password reset assistance, PC hardware/software inventory checks and stocking of spare parts as well as more advanced troubleshooting and support. Duties include (but not limited to) the following:
- Create and Maintain images for Windows based devices
- Solutions to improve imaging processes through technology
- Create packages to deploy software patches and updates
- Document all processes related to role
- Troubleshoot and correct escalated issues from Level One Support
- Move users data and configurations as needed
- Deploy scanners and printers as needed
- Image new devices and deploy to users
- Assist with Senior Level Management and Help Desk tasks
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• 2 years’ experience with installing and troubleshooting Windows 7-11
• 2 years’ experience in a scripting language such as powershell, python or javascript
• Knowledge of the basic principles of TCP/IP v4 networking (TCP/IP v6 a plus) such as DHCP, static IP
• Experience and prefer hands-on activities such as computer assembly
• Experience with any kind of imaging software (Ghost, Clonezilla, macrium) “Microsoft Deployment Tools” preferred
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
