ASM is the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities. We have an excellent opportunity and immediate opening for a Catering Supervisor. This is a hands-on position, responsible for performing the duties necessary to properly execute catered events as assigned by the Catering Services Manager and/or Assistant Catering Services Manager. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Service catered events and banquets as indicated on the Banquet Event Order. Organize and delegate daily tasks to banquet staff. Oversee event preparation and ensure that tasks are on schedule. Control the usage of linens, beverages and other banquet supplies Maximize efficient production of tasks as assigned by the manager on duty Conduct pre-event meetings with banquet service staff Supervise and assist with the food service for each event as specified by managers Responsible for overseeing productivity of Servers and temp workers to keep them on task Ensure linen shelves and other catering equipment & supplies are maintained in organized fashion Inform the Catering Manager of any areas in need of maintenance or repair Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary Requirements High School Diploma or General Education Diploma Minimum one (1) year of experience in catering/banquet service environment required. Strong sense of urgency Must be able to follow timelines closely as directed by managers Ability to serve utilizing trays Ability to work effectively in various types of events, in a fast-paced environment Ability to lead part-time and temporary staff through all phases of an event Must be able to follow sanitation guidelines and enforce sanitation policies as specified by managers Excellent written and verbal communication skills Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters Good problem solving skills and organizational ability Experience working independently and as a team member Ability to work with minimal supervision Proficient command of the English language Professional attitude and appearance HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Less than 30 hours per week on average. Hours based on business necessity. Varying work schedule. Irregular hours including evenings and weekends during the shows.
