What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Supervisor position at ASM Global?
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Banquet Server position for ASM Global/American Bank Center. Responsible for assisting in event operations regarding patron and employee concerns. Coordinate with Management issues involving patron complaints / issues and employee's performance.
- Function as Facility representative at all entrances and general areas of the facilities.
- Once the event begins, roam the facilities to observe employee & crowd behavior.
- Receives calls from event day facility management staff (including Command Post) and provide clear, concise, and timely communication information to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain an event day log of all incidents, accidents, and event related occurrences at the facility before, during and after the event.
- Communicates with Facility Management staff regarding employee related concerns/problems.
- Have a full working understanding of all event staff (i.e., ticket takers, ushers, concierges, security, crowd control, door screeners and guest relations) and possess the ability to communicate to staff when corrective action regarding appearance and communication with the public as needed. Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions.
- Handles duties and problems associated with the assigned supervisory responsibilities such as: evaluating employee's performance: recommending promotions, raises, terminations, and disciplinary matters, etc.
- At the conclusion of each event, communicate with Guest Services Manger issues of concern noted on event day log and recommendations to improve.
- Will be required to have involvement during training exercises, supervisory meetings, and be available to work events on an on-going basis.
- Implement facility rules, regulation of policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by Security Manager.
Qualifications
Assist in managing event staff. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2 years serving experience preferred.
- Exceptional Customer Service, communication, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively supervise staff.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
- Ability to communicate with and take direction from immediate supervisor and Facility Management.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team player with enthusiasm and motivation.
- Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to maneuver around all facility entitles.
