The ideal candidate will have experience in Home Health billing and/or authorization processes.
Job Description:
As a Home Health Medical Biller, you will be responsible for submitting home health claims to private insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, or patients in a timely and accurate manner, as well as in accordance with written contracts. Authorization Specialist obtains pre-authorization/authorization for services per payer requirements and communicates status of authorizations to medical team and Office manager. Reports to Operations/Compliance Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Experience in billing (home health experience is a big plus),
- Organization and problem- solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high energy environment
- Ability to focus and work quickly, as insurance eligibility and verification need to be processed in a timely manner.
- Must be able to read and follow up on EOB’s with insurance companies
- Maintain filing system
- Must know how to properly read codes and units for home health care.
Experience:
- Medical Billing: 1 year (Preferred)
- Home Healthcare Billing: 1 year (Required)
