Major Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to residents receiving restorative nursing to promote the resident's ability to attain and maintain their maximum function potential and minimize functional decline.
- Provide direct restorative care; restorative dining, splints, ADL's, bowel and bladder management, passive and active range of motion, ambulation and transfers.
- Encourage residents to participate in their assigned programs by providing verbal cueing, one on one, and safety precautions.
- Maintains documentation on each resident participating in Restorative Program and notifies management of any resident changes.
- Provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.
Responsibilites - Internal
- Manage the facility census by coordinating physician outreach, conducting sales calls, networking with community organizations and hospitals to generate patient referrals and admissions
- Evaluate and coordinate admissions with appropriate center staff
- Achieve facility census goals and annual budget projections through on site sales visits at hospitals and physician practices for referral conversions to admissions
- Develop relationships, provide excellent customer service and educate referral sources on services provided by our centers.
- Develop sales strategies to maximize admissions to grow market share in core business lines in assigned geographic area
- Maintain knowledge of current regulations governing Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance company reimbursement
- Participate in industry trade shows and business development activities, as assigned.
- Conduct admission screening of potential patients, determine level of care, services required, equipment needs and insurance coverage, as indicated.
Ensure appropriate clinical acceptance in a timely manner

Responsibilities - External
- Support the admissions department's activities in the pre-admission, admission, discharge, and follow-up of our residents.
- Conducts tours of facility for prospective residents whether walk-ins or scheduled admissions
- Reviews and coordinates with Liaison on patient acceptance
- Tracks pre-admission referral activity daily and notify departments of anticipated admission
- Assist with arrangements and confirmation of all admissions.
- Obtain prior approval number from payor on a per case basis when authorized.
- Ensure level of care approval obtained and or OBRA screen (PASSAR, MIMR) when indicated.
- Complete face sheet, attach to clinical screen, copy and distribute to appropriate departments
- Contact the County Department of Social Service / Medicaid office to verify eligibility and determine estimate of copay / family participation amount when appropriate
- Tracks acute hospital admissions to ensure readmission of patients.
- Coordinates weekend / holiday admissions in conjunctions with Liaisons
- Initiates and completes specified components of the facility admission packet with patient and / or responsible party.
- Maintains Resident Roster, waiting list and inquiry list as specified per state regulations including receipts
- Coordinates clinical assessment / screening and ensures appropriate clinical acceptance in a timely manner in the absence of Liaison.
Minimum Qualifications
- Secondary Education Degree required. (Associates or Bachelor's degree)
- Nursing degree preferred
- Three (3) years' experience in healthcare business development required.
- Managed care / insurance experience preferred.
- Experience with public and commercial payers sources preferred
