F.D. Thomas, Inc. (FDT) is currently seeking a Human Resource Generalist. This role will interact with leaders at all levels of the organization. This position will be based in Vallejo, CA and report to the Director of Human Resources with oversight by EVP of Operations.

Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle of recruitment efforts for assigned area.
- Provides support by partnering on HR processes, policies, procedures, and initiatives engaging appropriate corporate HR leadership.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management, such as: coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions.
- Conducts Employee Relations investigations, prepares documentation, and coaches employees, as required.
- Works closely with HR Leadership to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. May assist in employee disciplinary meetings as requested.
- Creates presentations, org charts, and reports, as requested by leadership.
- Partners with AIS Learning Development team to co-facilitate key employee learning opportunities, as needed.
- Assists with employee communications, as requested.
- Participates as an active member of the HR community, building relationships across the HR team and supporting other HR initiatives and projects as required.
- Assists with general HR administration including rewards and recognition, and other programs
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Ideal candidate will have some level of compensation experience in the following areas: collaboration with operational leadership/management, Interpretation of compensation programs/practices, job evaluations, job profiles/descriptions, salary reviews to maintain market competitiveness, and annual compensation review
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related area
- 5 years' of experience working in Human Resources
- Outstanding verbal, written, presentation and listening communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to meet demanding, evolving, and often competing deadlines.
- Knowledge of various state and federal laws
- Strong business acumen and proven ability to effectively interact with all organizational levels in a multicultural environment and build strong, trusted relationships.
- Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision, and thrive within a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities with grace and efficiency.
- Knowledge of COBRA, HIPPA, FMLA, ACA, CARES Act
