ASSA ABLOY has just begun recruitment efforts for a Distribution Supervisor. This is an on-site position that will be based out of our regional manufacturing facility located in Austell, Georgia.
We are a global leader in opening access solutions. Our Group focuses on the distribution of commercial door hardware and accessories.
What would you do as our DISTRIBUTION or FLASHSHIP SUPERVISOR?
You will have an opportunity to showcase your distribution and warehouse skills by ensuring and overseeing fulfilment operations of an industry leading quick ship program. You will be responsible for the on-time delivery, inventory management, customer relationships, collaboration with existing Distribution or FlashShip sites and efficient operational performance of the operation.
You would also:
- Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the FlashShip department
- Supervise, train and mentor a small team to ensure they are educated on policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Communicate directly with our customers, as well as work cross-collaboratively with internal departments such as Customer Service and Sales to manage questions regarding stock and availability, overcome challenges and provide possible up-selling opportunities
- Manage inventory receiving into ERP (JD Edwards)
- Ensure and track employee performance to established standards and provide feedback on performance within a timely manner
- Collaborate with Inventory Analyst on purchasing, ensure sufficient inventory to meet customer demand across multiple brands
- Work with Company management for all brands to manage lead times and ensure accurate stocking levels
- Assist other FlashShip locations with order fulfilment
- Other duties as required
- Continually promote a safe and harmonious working environment, demonstrating strict adherence to the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct and ASSA ABLOY Health & Safety Policy
The Skills and Experience you need:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Degree in Business Management, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics or a related field preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment in a supervisory capacity
- Previous working knowledge of ERP system
- Previous working experience with UPS Worldship a plus
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing priorities
- Demonstrated track record of accomplishing goals and deadline in a fast-paced environment through your team
- Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability work cross-collaboratively across the organization
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess the ability and desire to jump-in and provide back-up or support to your team, when needed
