Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for advanced and confidential duties requiring broad and comprehensive experience, skill, and knowledge of organizational policies and practices. These include, but are not limited to: Employee activities, maintain employee files and other HR compliance, assisting with recruiting and onboarding, employee benefits, general employee relations support, and administrative tasks.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities
- Manage hourly positions and recruiting process in HRIS, interview applicants, and utilize various sources to increase applicant flow to fulfill staffing needs. Maintain relationships with staffing agencies and reconcile invoices.
- Maintain data and weekly staffing updates.
- Work closely with the HR Assistant and the onboarding process ensuring all training, employment verification, recordkeeping, and system information is within compliancy standards.
- Assist with payroll processing for the manufacturing site including weekly review of timecards and timely investigation of pay issues.
- Work with the HR Manager to administer discipline, especially owning the attendance policy and audits. Ensure compliancy and make recommendations for policy changes.
- Maintain HRIS including processing new hires, status changes, terminations, unemployment, and employee benefits.
- Assist with special projects and HR initiatives (open enrollment, annual increases, wellness programs, etc.)
- Work closely with the HR Manager on the performance review program and job evaluations to ensure effectiveness.
- Coordinate the social committee and participate in organizing employee activities.
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state and local regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Excellent computer skills required, including ability to learn new programs.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is preferred.
Education & Certification
- Associates degree in Human Resources, related field, or equivalent experience required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-3 years of Human Resources experience
- Strong PC skills including the Microsoft Office Suite; primarily Excel and Word
- Working knowledge of HR administrative requirements pertaining to OSHA, FMLA, COBRA, STD, AAP, EEO, ADA, Unemployment, and Workers' Compensation
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems
- Ability to effectively present information publicly to varying audiences
- Ability to properly maintain confidential or sensitive information
- Ability to take responsibility for your own or the performance of those reporting to you by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring feedback, and addressing performance problems and issues promptly
