Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, responsible for providing technical skills in organizing and performing various medical laboratory procedures and clinical laboratory techniques.
Job Duties:
- Experience with extracting DNA and RNA from patient samples.
- Molecular technique experience. Prefer experience with real-time PCR, Sanger sequencing, capillary electrophoresis. Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is beneficial.
- Good dexterity with micropipetting.
- Advanced technical skills in performing and analyzing various molecular laboratory tests and procedures.
- Knowledge of general laboratory, safety and quality control, principles, techniques, and terminology and use of complex medical equipment.
- Excellent internal/external customer service.
- Ability to work in a Laboratory Information System.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Experience:
Six months to one (1) year of experience is preferred.
Additional Licenses and Certifications:
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Technologist in Molecular Biology (MB), or Specialist in Molecular Biology (SMB) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist or equivalent or eligibility to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire date is required.
Salary : $40,000 - $0
