Job Title: Warehouse Worker – Order Selector

Shift: Nights 3:00PM-1:30AM
Rate of Pay: $17.50 to $19.50 per hour.
SUMMARY To perform semi-skilled labor with regard to all aspects of warehouse operations including inventory management, shipping, receiving and loadout.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Build pallets and load/unload bags/drums onto and from trucks
Utilize computer system to receive ingredients/components and ship finished feed
Verify order versus Bill of Lading during receiving process
Understand and utilize the basic inventory management concept of FIFO (first in, first out) when dealing with product within the warehouse – both on the ingredient and finished product side of the operation
Batch selecting and batch splitting procedures must be followed to ensure accuracy and inventory control.
Ensure product is sent out in good condition. This means accurate tags are attached, no rips, product and bag are clean, and batch code is within SLED Date.
Ensure Slip are used on all pallets, that pallet covers are used according to weather and customer requests, that the Customer name is written legibly on the outside of the stretch film, and that proper initializing of employee pulling order is clearly written on the order.
Perform basic maintenance work in order to maintain warehouse facility and equipment.
Maintain required documentation associated with all departments.
After appropriate training and certification, learn to operate a forklift, including pre-trip duties. Forklift inspections and maintenance must be performed prior to each shift.
Daily Cleaning Log responsibilities must be completed before the end of shift.
Perform general housekeeping of warehouse area to meet OSHA standards, as well as a clean and safe working environment.
Climb ladders up to 100 feet to perform maintenance and inventory duties
Perform quality inspections.
Machine operation as needed (Concetti machine)
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Methods and techniques for safe work practices
Forklift operations.
Basic recordkeeping practices
Ability to:
Perform daily safety inspections and identify safety hazards.
Work independently in the absence of on-site supervision
Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and customers
Follow written and verbal instructions; problem solve
Communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
Complete written work orders legibly and keep records to coordinate feed schedules
Contribute to a positive work environment
Demonstrate good organization skills
Rules procedures must always be followed.
Communicate all shortages and any other issues to the Supervisor or Warehouse Lead immediately.
Communicate with Supervisor, Warehouse Lead, coworkers, and Sack feed Customer Service team as needed on a regular basis.
Work effectively as a team.
Minimum Job Requirements, Experience and Training Guidelines:
High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and carry up to 75 feet (e.g., sack feed bag); move up to a 300 pound drum of product
Previous feed/agricultural experience desired
Basic computer skills
Work varying shifts including weekends, holidays, overtime and on-call
Valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record
Company issued radios must be carried and used by all Order Selectors. Proper etiquette must be used when speaking on the radio.
SAP experience preferred.

Working Conditions
Work may be performed inside or outside in hot and cool temperatures and a noisy environment;
May be exposure to loud noises and steam exhaust, and dusty, muddy and slick environment
Adhere to all PPE Guidelines as established by OSHA and the company
PPE required: Safety glasses, steel/composite toe footwear, bump cap (hat liner when approved), uniform or high visibility coverage (jacket or vest), and gloves when necessary.
Forklift safety: Always wear seatbelt, turn headlights on while traveling, forks must remain as low as safely possible while traveling and flat while parked, and usage of the horn around corners and while going through roll up doors.
Monthly Safety Training, via Train Trac or monthly meetings, must always remain up to date.
Propane filling PPE: Apron, rubber gloves, and face shield.
Cardinal Rules procedures must always be followed.
