Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager will be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. They will be responsible for directing the maintenance programs and processes of the Fife Plant to ensure timely and effective production.
OBJECTIVES:
- Manages and coordinates breakdown, corrective and preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and optimize utilization.
- Conducts all management duties concerning training, counseling, performance appraisal and discipline involving personnel in the department.
- Controls waste of materials and other direct and indirect costs to operate maintenance within budgeted costs.
- Develops and maintains relationships with outside vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure continuity of resources to effectively meet maintenance performance standards.
- Maintains overall facilities and related activities
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs the maintenance programs and processes of the assigned plant(s) to ensure timely and effective production.
- Coordinates with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation.
- Responsible for productivity of all maintenance personnel.
- Determines manpower requirements and schedules overtime as needed.
- Manages projects as assigned by Plant Manager.
- Maintains equipment documentation files including prints, manuals and other pertinent information.
- Works with Human Resources, loss prevention insurers, and others to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Trains employees concerning plant and job hazards and the methods in order to protect themselves.
- Works closely with leadership team to support continuous improvement activities to include daily improvement projects

- Preferred a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 7-10 years of experience in the field or other degree (technical/ associatea) as well as option of 7 years’ experience minimum in place of a 4 year degree.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Leads and directs the work of others.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude for understanding of equipment functionality and capabilities.
