What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Manager position at Assure Pregnancy Clinic?
The Nurse Manager is an RN with the responsibility of overseeing all operational facets of Assure Pregnancy Clinic including implementation of policies and procedures, and all client related services including volunteer recruitment, training and retention.
Organizational Operations
- Ensures that all policies and procedures are reviewed on an annual basis.
- Prepare recommendations for changes in policies and procedures
- Informs the Executive Director of any progress or challenges which have arisen in the Clinic
- Reviews the effectiveness of ongoing programs, and plans and implements new programs that will meet the objectives of the organization’s stated mission.
- Ensures that all staff members receive training and guidance necessary to empower them to achieve success in their areas of operation.
- With the Executive Director, annually conducts clinic staff evaluations and recommendations for wage increases when appropriate.
- With the Executive Director, is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all local, state, and federal regulations and licensing.
- Assists the Executive Director with preparation of monthly and annual reports, operating budgets, and strategic planning, and other duties as assigned.
- Attend and participates in monthly Board Meetings
- Occasionally represents the ministry to the secular and Christian Community.
Medical Services
- Oversee the performance of ultrasounds following MD’s Standing Orders and insure client medical follow-up when indicated
- To ensure the integrity of Assure’s and Medical Director’s licenses by making sure Policies and Procedures are updated and being followed
- To train and supervise all medical staff and medical volunteers
- Responsible for all patient testing (Pregnancy, Hemoglobin, dipstick Urinalysis, STD)
- Ensure that all staff/volunteer Health Histories are current (including PPD and HEP B)
- Oversee the timely filing of Medi-Cal billing
- Oversee the timely review and reading of all ultrasound scans by Medical Director
- To ensure that accurate patient records and statistics are maintained to satisfy licensing requirements.
- Ensure ongoing chart reviews are done and Clinic Quality Assurance Procedures are followed
- Ensure that all clinic medical supplies are well stocked, and oversee the equipping of all medical exam rooms
- Oversee the maintenance and cleaning of medical equipment
- To provide counseling and services for patients when volunteers are unavailable or are inadequate to meet Clinic needs.
- Disseminate new policies and procedures to all staff and volunteers
Client Services
- Ensures excellence in all services to clients, and observance of policies and procedures, including HIPAA privacy practices.
- Oversees volunteer training and orientation workshops.
- Oversees the interviewing and screening of all potential volunteers. Provides orientation to ministry policies and procedures.
- Equips and encourages volunteers – educationally, personally and spiritually.
- Oversees a monthly schedule of medical and volunteer shifts within the Clinic.
- Maintains literature and library materials, ensuring factual and quality resources.
- Keeps Clinic resource guide current
- Works with Executive Director and Client Services Manager to plan biannual volunteer appreciation events
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
