 Purpose:

 The Sr Manager Commercial Insights role will be responsible for developing and maintaining an accurate view of the Global market conditions for the assigned products and TAs, providing primary and secondary market research, forecasting and competitive intelligence. This position is also responsible for maintaining an accurate picture of assigned product performance along with the risks and opportunities.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead global commercial analysis activities for assigned product. Provide forward looking insights to advance understanding of the relevant markets, competitors, and customers with the aim of delivering major competitive advantage for Astellas’ products and development strategy
  • For Brand Insights projects, lead the identification of information needs, development of market research/data analysis plan, execution of the research process, and communication of actionable insights within assigned products
  • Coordinate across Commercial Division Insights and Strategy teams, Data Strategy, Advanced, Analytics & Reporting and Commercial Forecasting functions to ensure integrated and consistent communication of insights and implications, tied back to brand strategies and objectives
  • Lead complex market research activities in support of brand strategies
  • Develop deep understanding of the market landscape which includes market potential, market trends, unmet medical and patient needs, market access challenges and competitors’ trend for each of the assigned products
  • Work together with finance to provide forecasting and budgeting expertise to the BGM team. Reconcile financial assumptions to ensure consistency of forecasts across regions, and understand the rationale for differences where appropriate 
  • Provide overall Product market intelligence guidance to the global marketing team
  • Communicate key business findings and insights to the relevant cross functional stakeholders

 

 

Quantitative Dimensions:

  • Responsible for the development and execution of the market research plans for the assigned priority products,
  • Managing projects with total budget up to ~$10 M

 

Organizational Context:

  • Reports to Director Commercial Insights
  • Peer group: Strategic Brand marketing, operational marketing, Commercial Division Insights and Strategy, Data Strategy, Advanced Analytics and Reporting and Commercial Forecasting
  • Scope: Ophthalmology products
