What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant position at Aston Carter?

Description

  • General Job Description: Experience with general accounting principles, such as invoicing/billing, accounts payable, material and job costing, and support role to the Controller
  • Daily Invoicing and Billings:
  • Process invoices for Contract Jobs, update costing on contract jobs, keep records of cost and profits for each contract project in excel
  • Process invoices for Sales Orders, run costing for each sales order and report out with any SO lower than 35% margins
  • Print out daily incoming email invoices, match up invoices to purchase orders and enter invoices into accounting system
  • Run accounts payable checks 3x per month, obtain signatures, file paid invoices and mail checks
  • Perform weekly follow up on accounts/invoices that are past due as advised by Controller
  • Perform HR duties working with Mineral
  • Set up Training Company wide on many topics
  • Maintain spreadsheet of courses employees need to complete
  • Process bank deposits and enter into accounting system
  • Assist with monthly reconciliation of inventory cycle counts
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Backup to Controller for creation of daily report
  • Backup to Controller for bi-weekly payroll
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by Controller

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years minimum experience supporting CPA or Controller with strong background with Accounting Software
  • Degree in accounting
  • 4 years or more of Accounting experience
  • Excel experience
