Aston Carter has an immediate opening for an Instructional Designer opportunity at the corporate office in Tempe, AZ.
Job Summary:
The Instructional Designer will work with subject matter experts and other partners to design, develop, and implement learning programs or solutions for Enterprise Corporate Services (ECS). These programs will be developed and delivered in a variety of formats, including but not limited to traditional instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, or self-paced eLearning courses. This position will be responsible for engaging in the full instructional design and development cycle and will also be responsible for using and recommending technology-based tools to improve the instructional integrity of Enterprise Corporate Services’ learning materials.
Essential Functions:
- Design and develop interactive and engaging materials for both classroom and alternative delivery, i.e.: web-based and informal learning
- Design instructor-led (in-person and virtual), web-based and hybrid training courses using adult learning principles
- Ensure the instructional integrity of course development projects through systematic design and clear writing of scripts, narratives, and storyboards
- Revise and update current training materials according to system and design changes
- Establish instructional design and development standards for all existing and future training materials that support continued quality, speed of delivery, and learning reinforcement
- Conduct front-end analysis including needs assessment, task analysis, content analysis, and instructional analysis. Make recommendations on learning solution based on analysis.
- Assist in the evaluation of instructional effectiveness for course materials that are produced.
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts and Stakeholders to consult on business needs and develop learning outcomes and experiences that are clearly linked with business goals.
- Communicate frequently and effectively with various project collaborators to ensure that goals and objectives are being met
- Utilize desktop publishing and content development software to create and print a variety of materials. Plan and devise the layout of media for presentation materials
- Utilize content development Softwares to create videos for instructional purposes.
Minimum Education/Abilities/Skills:
· BA/BS degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Educ., or a related field preferred
- Proven ability to build, manage, and improve learning programs and projects via ADDIE/SAM design methodologies
- Experience using course authoring tools (ex: Captivate or Articulate)
· Ability to build on-line e-learning courseware
· Experience designing and working with various learning modalities (gaming – gamification, e-learning, podcasting etc.) a plus
· Strong team mindset

· Project management experience preferred
· Graphic Design skills preferred
