Description:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll. This includes semi-monthly and biweekly payrolls for Union and Non-Union employees. This position involves assisting employees with payroll related issues, processing certified payrolls and updating data to employee records or HRIS system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Full processing of payroll for all entities.
Set up new hires in HRIS and timecard system.
Data entry of wage, cost center, and other reporting requirement changes.
Process certified payrolls.
Prepare and process off cycle checks.
Calculate and process sales commissions.
Maintain and update employee deductions.
Update personnel files including scanning.
Assist employees with payroll questions.
Validate and process W2’s.
Assist Human Resources Manager and Assistant Manager.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel plus data entry experience.
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
